1. What BeepPact is
BeepPact lets two people who trust each other form a pact. Inside a pact, either person can send a beep - a notification to the other person that, when opened, sounds an alarm and reads the reason aloud. A beep is sent as a Time Sensitive notification: on iPhone it comes through Do Not Disturb and other Focus modes while Time Sensitive Notifications are on for BeepPact, which you can turn off in your phone's Settings. It does not override the ring/silent switch: on silent the notification arrives without sound, and the alarm plays once the beep is opened.
2. A pact is mutual
A pact only exists once both people accept it. Either person can revoke a pact at any time, immediately and without notice to the other. Revoking a pact stops all beeps between the two accounts.
3. Use the beep honestly
A beep is for moments that genuinely need the other person's attention. Repeatedly beeping someone who has not asked to be reached, or using beeps to harass, alarm or pressure another person, is a breach of these terms and may result in your account being closed.
4. Beep budget
Free accounts may send a limited number of beeps each calendar month. The limit exists to keep beeps meaningful. A paid subscription raises it. Unused beeps do not carry over.
5. Delivery is not guaranteed
A beep is delivered as a push notification and depends on your device, your operating system and your network. We cannot guarantee that any given beep will arrive, arrive in time, or override every device setting. BeepPact is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number.
6. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
7. Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are billed through the app store you purchased them from. They renew automatically until cancelled, and you cancel them in your app store account settings.
8. Ending your account
You may delete your account from Settings at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, your pacts and your beep history.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
